Plan for much warmer temperatures traveling from Edmonton in December, with highs in Copenhagen at 7°C and lows at 2°C. Located on the sea, Aarhus blends a world city with a small-town feel. Home to a young population, the city has a reputation for producing internationally known pop and rock musicians.
Bring the kids along to Den Gamle By and Tivoli Friheden. Get out of town with these interesting Aarhus side-trips: Museum Ostjylland Grenaa (in Grenaa), Minigolf I Saksild (in Odder) and Rosenholm Slot (in Hornslet). There's still lots to do: engage your brain at Botanical Garden and the Greenhouses, view the masterpieces at Grisk, walk around Marselisborg Mindepark, and admire the landmark architecture of Aarhus Universitet.
