The capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, Lhasa possesses a wealth of Tibetan Buddhist sites of historical and cultural importance.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Sun): step into the grandiose world of Potala Palace, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Jokhang Temple, and then steep yourself in history at Sera Monastery. On the next day, stop by Dropenling Lhasa Villages Handicraft Shop, take in the spiritual surroundings of Nechung Monastery and Temple, get engrossed in the history at Tibet Revolution Exhibition Hall, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Xiamiyuan Temple, then contemplate the long history of Drepung Monastery (Zhebang Si), and finally make a trip to Barkhor Street.

Baku, Azerbaijan to Lhasa is an approximately 15.5-hour combination of flight and bus. You'll lose 4 hours traveling from Baku to Lhasa due to the time zone difference. Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Baku in July: high temperatures in Lhasa hover around 26°C and lows are around 14°C.
