The cultural capital of the Naxi people, one of the 55 minority ethnic groups in the country, Lijang traces its history back over 800 years, with the city developing from a trading post on the ancient Southern Silk Road.
Kick off your visit on the 28th (Sat): ponder the design of Black Dragon Pond Park and then appreciate the extensive heritage of Old Town of Lijiang - China.

Pune, India to Lijiang is an approximately 13-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and taxi; or drive. You'll lose 2 hours traveling from Pune to Lijiang due to the time zone difference. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Sat) to allow time to travel to Xi'an.

Historians often describe Xi'an, capital city for over a dozen dynasties, as the birthplace of Chinese civilization.
Kick off your visit on the 29th (Sun): get engrossed in the history at The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses and then contemplate the long history of Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta). Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: admire the masterpieces at Tang Bo Art Museum, explore the ancient world of Xi'an City Wall (Chengqiang), and then make a trip to Muslim Quarter.

Fly from Lijiang to Xi'an in 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. In March, daily temperatures in Xi'an can reach 19°C, while at night they dip to 3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Mon) early enough to travel to Beijing.

Expect a bit warmer evenings in Shanghai when traveling from Beijing in April, with lows around 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sun) so you can travel to Huangshan.
