Granada boasts numerous well-preserved examples of exquisite Moorish architecture, not the least of which is the Alhambra, an ancient citadel and royal palace.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Sun): step into the grandiose world of Alhambra, take a stroll through Albayzin, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Camarin de la Virgen del Rosario. Here are some ideas for day two: fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, and then appreciate the extensive heritage of Mirador de San Nicolas.

Traveling by car from Cordoba to Granada takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Cordoba in May: highs in Granada hover around 29°C, while lows dip to 13°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 18th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Nerja.

Nerja is a municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. Take a break from the city and head to Playa de la Alberquilla and Playa Torrecilla. There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Playa del Molino de Papel, look for all kinds of wild species at Nerja Donkey Sanctuary, kick back and relax at Playa de la Cala el Canuelo, and take in the dramatic natural features at Cliffs of Maro Cerro Gordo.

Getting from Granada to Nerja by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus. In May in Nerja, expect temperatures between 30°C during the day and 14°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Marbella.
