The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Sun): take some stellar pictures from Taejongdae, wander the streets of Busan Gamcheon Culture Village, and then stroll around Yongdusan Park. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Haedong Yonggungsa, stroll through Haeundae Beach, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Gwangalli Beach.

Sydney, Australia to Busan is an approximately 16-hour flight. The time zone changes from Australian Eastern Standard Time to Korean Standard Time, which is usually a -1 hour difference. In March, Busan is cooler than Sydney - with highs of 57°F and lows of 38°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Kick off your visit on the 15th (Tue): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Bulguksa Temple and then appreciate the history behind Seokguram.

Getting from Busan to Gyeongju by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or take a train. When traveling from Busan in March, plan for slightly colder days in Gyeongju, with highs around 40°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 40°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Tue) to allow time to fly to Jeju.

Island of the Gods

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
Get outdoors at Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo. Get some cultural insight at Gwaneumsa Temple and Trick Art Museum Korea. Take a break from Jeju with a short trip to Cheonjiyeon Falls in Seogwipo, about 44 minutes away. Spend the 16th (Wed) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's still lots to do: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave and tour the pleasant surroundings at Hamdeok Beach.

You can fly from Gyeongju to Jeju in 2.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, taxi, and ferry. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Sat) to allow time to fly to Seoul.

Seoul

One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Head to Myeongdong Shopping Street and Namdaemun Marketfor some retail therapy. Do some cultural sightseeing at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace. When in Seoul, make a side trip to see DMZ Haemaru Village in Paju, approximately Paju away. There's much more to do: don't miss a visit to Insadong, get great views at N Seoul Tower, stroll around Namsan Park, and brush up on your military savvy at The War Memorial of Korea.

You can fly from Jeju to Seoul in 2.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of ferry, taxi, and train; or do a combination of ferry and car. In March, plan for daily highs up to 53°F, and evening lows to 34°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Fri) to allow enough time to fly back home.
