Duck — 3 nights

Duck is a town in Dare County, North Carolina, United States. Family-friendly places like Back Country Safari Tours and Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Museum will thrill your kids. Change things up with a short trip to Miss Kitty's Old Time Photos & Gifts in Corolla (about 32 minutes away). Ocracoke is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated town located at the southern end of Ocracoke Island, located entirely within Hyde County, North Carolina. On the 9th (Sun), trek along Hammock Hills Nature Trails, stop by Books to Be Red, then get great views at Outer Banks National Scenic Byway, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach. Here are some ideas for day two: steep yourself in history at British Cemetery, view the masterpieces at Over the Moon, then enjoy the sea views from Ocracoke Lighthouse, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at Springers Point.
