The largest city on Canada's eastern coastline, Halifax boast a rich maritime history and occupies a strategically important location with one of the world's greatest natural harbors.Head to Sweet Spot Chocolate Shop and Pearl & Daisy Natural Soap Companyfor some retail therapy. Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with these side-trips from Halifax: Lawrencetown Beach (in East Lawrencetown), Clam Harbour Beach (in Clam Harbour) and Peggy's Cove Lighthouse (in Peggy's Cove).
