Kampala enjoys the reputation of a modern city with a buzzing atmosphere--it also serves as a good base point for exploring the surrounding area.
Take a break from the city and head to Kayak the Nile and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. Venture out of the city with trips to Jinja (Cuupa Arts Gallery, River Rafting & Tubing, & more), Entebbe (Entebbe Botanic Gardens, Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre, & more) and Munyonyo Beach (in Munyonyo). Spend the 5th (Tue) spotting exotic species with a safari tour. Make the 14th (Thu) an awe-inspiring day at Gorilla Bookings. There's much more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gaddafi National Mosque, try your luck at Casino Simba, don't miss a visit to Uganda Martyrs National Shrine, and delve into the mystery of Kasubi Tombs.

In February, plan for daily highs up to 32°C, and evening lows to 23°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
