You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.

Keszthely is a Hungarian city of 20,895 inhabitants located on the western shore of Lake Balaton. Your inner history buff will appreciate Festetics Palace and Szigliget Castle. Take a break from the city and head to Kapolnapuszta Buffalo Reservation and Badacsony Volcano Valley. Step out of Keszthely to go to Tapolca and see Malom Lake, which is approximately 34 minutes away. The adventure continues: head outdoors with Lido Strand.
