Colmar — 13 nights

Little Venice

Situated along the Alsatian Wine Route, Colmar is renowned for its German and French culture, well-preserved old town, numerous architectural landmarks, and its museums.
Step off the beaten path and head to Grand Rue De Colmar and Dolder Tower. Change things up with these side-trips from Colmar: Route des Cretes (in La Bresse), Gerardmer (Gerardmer Ski & Observatoire de Merelle) and Musee des Eaux de Vie (in Lapoutroie). There's lots more to do: wander the streets of Little Venice, don't miss a visit to Statue of Liberty, contemplate the long history of Maison Schongauer, and admire the landmark architecture of Salle du Corps de Garde.

For photos, other places to visit, maps, and other tourist information, read our Colmar sightseeing planner.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Strasbourg Airport, Metz-Nancy-Lorraine Airport and Dole-Tavaux Airport. In December, plan for daily highs up to 46°F, and evening lows to 34°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sat) so you can travel back home.
