An hour's drive from Halifax's international airport, Luneburg boasts both colorful buildings and a colorful history, as well as status as a World Heritage Site.
Explore Lunenburg's surroundings by going to Cleveland Beach Provincial Park (in Hubbards), Graves Island Provincial Park (in Chester) and Rissers Beach Provincial Park (in Petite Riviere). There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Hirtle's Beach, look for gifts at The Teazer, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. John's Anglican Church, and head off the coast to Tancook Island.
