The rainforest meets the sea at Manuel Antonio National Park, a small but scenic natural preserve on the west coast of Costa Rica.
Start off your visit on the 7th (Wed): enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Biesanz and then enjoy the sand and surf at La Playita. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: experience rural life at Villa Vanilla / Rainforest Spices and then surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour.

San Jose to Manuel Antonio is an approximately 1.5-hour combination of bus, flight, and taxi. You can also drive; or take a bus. In February, daytime highs in Manuel Antonio are 30°C, while nighttime lows are 21°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Uvita.

Surfing remains the main reason to take a trip to Tamarindo, as the beachside town is mostly known for its excellent waves.
