Mallnitz — 2 nights

Mallnitz is a municipality in the Spittal an der Drau District in Carinthia, Austria.GeographyIt is situated in a high valley of the Hohe Tauern mountain range stretching southwards down to Obervellach on the Möll river and separating the Ankogel Group in the east from the Goldberg Group in the west. Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Thu): cool off at Wasserspielepark Fallbach, admire the engineering at Kolnbreinsperre, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Ankogel, and finally cool off at Tauernbad Mallnitz. Here are some ideas for day two: take in the architecture and atmosphere at The Church of St Vincent, take in the awesome beauty at Bergbahn Schareck von Heiligenblut, and then take in the dramatic scenery at Vodopad Jungfernsprung.

Carinthia travel guide

4.1
Scenic Drive · Bodies of Water · Theme Parks
Visitors find a natural paradise at Carinthia, an Austrian province home to hundreds of lakes, ski slopes, and the country's leading spas. Ski the Eastern Alps or soak up the warmth at the area's renowned thermal springs. Among the province's gems is the area's largest lake and one of the country's most popular tourist attractions. Mountain views abound, but if you prefer city life to outdoor recreation, head to the state's capital, Klagenfurt, or explore medieval treasures such as Friesach or Gmund.
