Kick off your visit on the 24th (Thu): get a taste of the local shopping with The Strip and then make a trip to Bellagio Fountains. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: identify plant and animal life at Lake Mead National Recreation Area and then take in breathtaking views at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

Charleston to Las Vegas is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and flight; or drive. You'll gain 3 hours traveling from Charleston to Las Vegas due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Las Vegas in May, things will get little chillier in Los Angeles: highs are around 75°F and lows about 59°F.
