Silicon Valley North

A major center of technology nicknamed "Silicon Valley North," Ottawa offers visitors a modern flavor with its range of trendy hotels, shops, and restaurants.
When in Ottawa, make a side trip to see Omega Park in Montebello, approximately Montebello away. There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Parliament Hill and Buildings, take in the spiritual surroundings of Notre Dame Basilica, hike along Gatineau Park, and see the interesting displays at National Gallery of Canada.

It's home to a diverse population and perched on the River Thames, but that's where the similarities end between the city of London in Canada, and it's much more famous British counterpart.
Change things up with these side-trips from London: Guelph (Royal City Church, Guelph, Donkey Sanctuary of Canada, &more), Grand Bend (Pinery Provincial Park & Grand Bend Beach) and Rock Glen Conservation Area (in Arkona). Pack the 30th (Sun) with family-friendly diversions at Storybook Gardens.
