Known for its wide range of restaurants and traditional pubs, Kenmare sits along two major Irish tourist routes, the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kenmare: Glengarriff (Garinish Island & Beara Way), Derrynane Beach (in Caherdaniel) and Staigue Fort (in Castlecove). Spend the 30th (Fri) exploring the striking scenery along Slea Head Drive. Spend a day of island exploring on the 1st (Sun) at Skellig Michael. There's much more to do: get to know the fascinating history of Molly Gallivan's Cottage & Traditional Farm, take in nature's colorful creations at Derreen Gardens, snap pictures at Cromwell's Bridge, and head outdoors with Ring of Beara.

For more things to do, maps, other places to visit, and tourist information, you can read our Kenmare visit planner .

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major airports are Cork Airport and Shannon Airport. In August, daytime highs in Kenmare are 20°C, while nighttime lows are 14°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Tue) so you can travel back home.
