Burns

— 11 nights
Burns is a city in and the county seat of Harney County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument- Sheep Rock and Flatiron Rock Trail. Venture out of the city with trips to Prairie City (Sumpter Valley Railway Depot & DeWitt Museum), Clyde Holliday State Recreation Site (in Mount Vernon) and John Day (Kam Wah Chung State Heritage Site & John Day Fossil Beds National Monument). There's lots more to do: see the interesting displays at Grant County Historical Museum, stroll through Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, take in the awesome beauty at Steens Mountain, and witness a stunning natural landmark at Crystal Crane Hot Springs.

To find other places to visit, traveler tips, and tourist information, refer to the Burns trip planner.

In June, plan for daily highs up to 79°F, and evening lows to 42°F.
