Surfing remains the main reason to take a trip to Tamarindo, as the beachside town is mostly known for its excellent waves.
Get out of town with these interesting Tamarindo side-trips: Playa Conchal (in Playa Conchal) and Playa Hermosa (in Playa Hermosa). And it doesn't end there: stroll through Tamarindo Beach, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers, and look for gifts at Lydia Beech Art.

Halifax, Canada to Tamarindo is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. The time zone difference moving from Atlantic Standard Time (AST) to Central Standard Time (CST) is minus 2 hours. In March, Tamarindo is much hotter than Halifax - with highs of 40°C and lows of 25°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Tue) to allow time to take a bus to Nosara.

Along with its agricultural and fishing heritage, Nosara stands as one of the oldest expatriate communities in the country.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Nosara: Playa Samara (Samara Beach & Barrigona Beach). Nicoya, a city on the Nicoya Peninsula of the Guanacaste province, Costa Rica, is one of the country's most important tourist zones; it serves as a transport hub to Guanacaste's beaches and national parks. Kick off your visit on the 17th (Sat): take in the spiritual surroundings of Church of San Blas and then get in on the family fun at Black Stallion Eco Park & Estates. On the next day, explore the striking landscape of Palo Verde National Park.
