Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
On the 30th (Fri), take a stroll through Pike Place Market, view the masterpieces at Chihuly Garden and Glass, and then make a trip to Space Needle.

Friday Harbor, San Juan Island

The tiny town of Friday Harbor is the largest village on the San Juan Islands, and it fits within just 2.6 km (1 sq mi) of space.
On the 31st (Sat), admire the majestic nature at Lime Kiln Point State Park, experience rural life at Pelindaba Lavender Farm, and then find something for the whole family at Zip San Juan. Keep things going the next day: see the interesting displays at The Whale Museum and then get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour.

Newport

A town that survives on the sea, Newport's population of just over 10,000 supports a healthy commercial fishing industry.
We've included these beaches for you: Devils Punchbowl State Natural Area and Nye Beach. Take a break from the city and head to Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area and Devil's Churn. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Newport: Cape Perpetua Visitor Center - Siuslaw National Forest (in Yachats) and Heceta Head Lighthouse (in Florence).
