Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Family-friendly places like Castelo dos Mouros and Carmo Archaeological Museum will thrill your kids. Take a break from Lisbon with a short trip to Pelourinho de Sintra in Sintra, about 38 minutes away. There's much more to do: learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Jardim Zoologico, get great views at Miradouro da Senhora do Monte, see the interesting displays at National Museum of Ancient Art, and explore the world behind art at Museu Colecao Berardo.
