Budapest — 10 nights

Pearl of the Danube
You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.Bring the kids along to Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church. Appreciate the collections at House of Terror Museum and Hungarian National Museum. Change things up with these side-trips from Budapest: Valley of the Beautiful Women (in Eger) and Priest's Island (Pap-sziget) (in Szentendre). There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), contemplate the long history of Dohány Street Synagogue, pick up some local products at Central Market Hall, and get a sense of history and politics at Hungarian Parliament Building.
For ratings, other places to visit, more things to do, and other tourist information, read Budapest journey site.
If you are flying in from Thailand, the closest major aiport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. June in Budapest sees daily highs of 30°C and lows of 15°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 10th (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
