Ouidah, historically also called Whydah, Juda, Juida by the French and Ajudá by the Portuguese, formally the Kingdom of Whydah (so named for the Whydah Bird of Paradise), is a city on the coast of the Republic of Benin. On the 20th (Fri), make a trip to Temple des Pythons, then see the interesting displays at Ouidah Museum of History, and then make a trip to Porte du non retour.

Porto-Novo is the capital of Benin, and was the capital of French Dahomey. Museum-lovers will appreciate Artisanal Center and Ethnographique Museum of Porto Novo. Take a break from the city and head to Fidjrosse Beach and Obama Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Porto-Novo side-trips: Lac Nokoue (in Ganvie) and Cotonou (Cotonou Cathedral, Fondation Zinsou, & more). Spend the 28th (Sat) exploring nature at Parc National de la Pendjari.
