Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Go for a jaunt from Munich to Dachau to see Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site about 32 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: make a trip to Marienplatz, admire the landmark architecture of Ruffinihaus, contemplate the long history of Nymphenburg Palace, and hunt for treasures at Viktualienmarkt.

The cultural, economic, and political center of the country, Vienna has developed from its early Celtic and Roman roots into a medieval and Baroque city, with an old town that was designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.
