Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
On the 16th (Thu), wander the streets of Pike Place Market and then stroll through Alki Beach.

Charlotte to Seattle is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time to Pacific Standard Time, which is usually a -3 hour difference. Traveling from Charlotte in August, expect Seattle to be a bit cooler, temps between 80°F and 61°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 17th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel to San Francisco.

Do a combination of flight and train from San Francisco to Los Angeles in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and flight; or drive. In August, Los Angeles is somewhat warmer than San Francisco - with highs of 84°F and lows of 66°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Wed) so you can go by car to San Diego.
