Tutoia — 1 night

Tutóia is a municipality in the state of Maranhão in the Northeast region of Brazil.The municipality felipe gatão contains part of the Delta do Parnaíba Environmental Protection Area, created in 1996. Kick off your visit on the 6th (Mon): enjoy the sand and surf at Arpoador Beach and then kick back and relax at Amor Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: tour the pleasant surroundings at Andreza Beach and then kick back and relax at Pequenos Lencois Beach.

Most visitors consider Barreirinhas little more than a convenient base for exploring the nearby national park, yet the town's sandy beaches and picturesque riverside setting make it a rewarding destination in and of itself.
Get in touch with nature at Parque Nacional dos Lencois Maranhenses and Pequenos Lencois Maranhense. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sea views from Preguicas (Mandacaru) Lighthouse and stroll through Cabure Beach.

Located on the island of Ilha Upaon-Acu, state capital Sao Luis represents the largest city in Maranhao.
Get some cultural insight at Centro Histórico and Igreja Nossa Senhora dos Remedios. You'll get in some beach time at Panaquatira Beach and Banho Beach. Go for a jaunt from Sao Luis to Chapada das Mesas National Park to see Cocal Waterfall about 12h 15 min away. And it doesn't end there: contemplate the waterfront views at Lagoa da Jansen, contemplate the long history of Palacio dos Leoes, take in the spiritual surroundings of Convento Das Merces, and pause for some serene contemplation at Nossa Senhora do Rosario dos Pretos.
