Founded when gold was discovered in the area in the late 19th century, Johannesburg quickly grew into a bustling metropolis, South Africa's largest city and the region's economic hub.Start off your visit on the 2nd (Tue): steep yourself in history at Mandela House, examine the collection at Apartheid Museum, then contemplate the long history of Constitution Hill Human Rights Precinct, and finally browse the different shops at Jack Friedman Eastgate. On the 3rd (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: find something for the whole family at Gold Reef City.
