10 days in Seoul, Busan & Jeju Itinerary

One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.

Start off your visit on the 19th (Sat): explore the wide array of goods at Shinsegae Dept. Store Main, look for gifts at SMTOWN coexartium, hunt for treasures at Jungbu Market, then contemplate the long history of Seoul City Wall, and finally make a trip to Ikseon-dong Hanok Street.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Seoul is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. You can also drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Seoul. Prepare for colder weather when traveling from Kuala Lumpur in November: high temperatures in Seoul hover around 13°C and lows are around 3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Sun) to allow time to fly to Busan.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.

Kick off your visit on the 20th (Sun): enjoy the sand and surf at Gwangalli Beach, kick back and relax at Dadaepo Beach, take a stroll through Busan Gamcheon Culture Village, then take in the exciting artwork at Tower Gallery, and finally take a stroll through Busan China Town. On your second day here, enjoy the sand and surf at Haeundae Beach, take in the spiritual surroundings of Haedong Yonggungsa, then enjoy the sand and surf at Songjeong Beach, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Seoknamsa Temple.

Traveling by flight from Seoul to Busan takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Traveling from Seoul in November, expect nights in Busan to be about the same, around 6°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 18°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 21st (Mon) so you can catch the flight to Jeju.

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.

Start off your visit on the 22nd (Tue): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gwaneumsa Temple, hike along Saryeoni Forest Path, walk around Jeolmul Natural Forest Resort, then walk around Jeju April 3rd Peace Park, then head outdoors with Samyang Black Sand Beach, and finally trek along Jeju Olle Trail Routes. On the 23rd (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the awesome beauty at Saebyeol Oreum, head outdoors with Geumneung Eutteumwon Beach, kick back and relax at Gwakji Gwamul Beach, then walk around Handam Park, then enjoy the sand and surf at Gimnyeong Seonsegi Beach, and finally kick back and relax at Woljeongri Beach.

Traveling by flight from Busan to Jeju takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, taxi, and ferry. You will have some time to spend on the 24th (Thu) before leaving for Seoul.

Popular historic sites such as Gyeongbokgung Palace and Cheonggyecheon Stream are in your itinerary. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Bongeunsa Temple and Bukhansan National Park. Getting from Jeju to Seoul by flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of ferry, taxi, and train; or do a combination of ferry and car. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sun) so you can fly back home.
