Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Your list of things to see and do now includes Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, House of Augustus, and other attractions. There's lots more to do: admire the landmark architecture of Pantheon, explore the ancient world of Palatine Hill, make a trip to Spanish Steps, and steep yourself in history at Roman Forum.

A city famous for its cuisine, Bologna is the seat of the oldest university in the world, founded in 1088.
