We've included these beaches for you: Clam Harbour Beach and Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park. Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and Halifax Citadel National Historic Site of Canada are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Halifax: Peggy's Cove Lighthouse (in Peggy's Cove) and Sweet Spot Chocolate Shop (in Elmsdale).
