Often referred to as Iceland's second city, Akureyri offers an array of cultural attractions in a scenic setting.
Attractions like Akureyri Swimming Pool and Hlíðarfjall make great kid-friendly stops. Take a break from the city and head to Horseback Riding Tours and Hofdi. When in Akureyri, make a side trip to see Husavik Yellow Lighthouse in Husavik, approximately Husavik away. Next up on the itinerary: see the interesting displays at Akureyri Museum, pause for some serene contemplation at Catholic Church (Katholska Kirkjan), Head underground at Lofthellir Lava Cave, and make a trip to Viti Crater.
