The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Glover Garden. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Nagasaki Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims and 26 Martyrs Museum. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum and Shiotatsu no Townscape. Take a break from Nagasaki with a short trip to Yutoku Inari Shrine in Kashima, about 1h 15 min away. Manila, Philippines to Nagasaki is an approximately 9-hour combination of flight and train. You can also fly. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Manila to Nagasaki due to the time zone difference. On the 17th (Thu), take in the spiritual surroundings of Mitaki Temple, make a trip to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, then pause for some photo ops at Peace Flame, and finally buy something for everyone on your list at YouMe Town Hiroshima. On the next day, shop like a local with Kamiyacho, browse the different shops at Asse, tour the pleasant surroundings at Mikasahama Beach, contemplate the long history of Seishin Tsurui, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Itsukushima Shrine Torii, and finally stop by Miyajima Omotesando Shopping Street.

Getting from Beppu to Hiroshima by train takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of car and ferry. Expect a daytime high around 26°C in October, and nighttime lows around 19°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Fri) so you can catch the train to Fukuoka.

The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Canal City Hakata has been added to your itinerary. On the 19th (Sat), take a stroll through Nishijin Shopping District, get engrossed in the history at Fukuoka City Museum, then wander the streets of Shintencho Shopping Street, then buy something for everyone on your list at Hakata Deitos, and finally get your game on at Canal City Hakata. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 20th (Sun): contemplate the long history of Nanzoin, then look for gifts at Ito Sai Sai, then take a stroll through Oyafukodori, and finally browse the different shops at Tenjin Underground Shopping Center.
