Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Colosseum and Vatican Museums. Pantheon and Piazza Navona will appeal to history buffs. On the 27th (Mon), pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica of Santa Croce, then enjoy breathtaking views from Campanile di Giotto, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and finally get to know the fascinating history of Piazza del Duomo.
