It's quite possible that a Baghdad holiday isn't on your list of things to do, but despite the city's reputation for turmoil, it still has plenty to offer to a daring traveler.
Pack the 19th (Fri) with family-friendly diversions at Zawraa Park. There's lots more to do: explore the galleries of Iraqi Museum, make a trip to Abu Hanifa Mosque, browse the different shops at Al Mansur Mall, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Buratha Mosque.

Najaf ranks among the most frequented places of Islamic pilgrimage in the world.
When in Najaf, make a side trip to see Babylon in Al Hillah, approximately Al Hillah away. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Shrine Amir al-mo'menin Ali bin Abi Talib peace be upon him, explore the different monuments and memorials at Wadi Al-Salaam Cemetery, don't miss a visit to Maytham al-Tammar Shrine, and get engrossed in the history at House of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb.

Kick off your visit on the 24th (Wed): take in the spiritual surroundings of Tal Al Zainabeiah site, take in the spiritual surroundings of Imam Hussain's Shrine, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Al Abbas Holy Shrine.
