Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Baku is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Arabian Standard Time (AST) to Azerbaijan Standard Time (AZT), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Prepare for little chillier weather when traveling from Jeddah in August: high temperatures in Baku hover around 38°C and lows are around 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Gobustan.

Gobustan — 1 night

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 15th (Mon): don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes and then examine the collection at Gobustan State Reserve.

Getting from Baku to Gobustan by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a train. In August in Gobustan, expect temperatures between 38°C during the day and 26°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 15th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Gabala.
