Fort King George, Scarborough

(4.3/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Visit Fort King George and learn about the history of the island. Built by the British towards the end of the 18th century, the fort has been carefully restored; today, a number of signs reveal the history of the buildings and their various uses. Cannons stand in situ around the neatly maintained grounds, and the old prison has a particularly striking atmosphere. Stop by the well-curated museum to see interesting artifacts from indigenous cultures, 19th-century watercolors of the island, and maps from the 1600s. • Has lots of historical information as well as a museum. There's ingormation about the French and British influence on the island in the days of colonization as well as old relics like canons, a building that was used to store gunpowder, barracks etc. It has a beautiful view and nice place to see.
