Argyle Waterfall, Scarborough
(4.1/5 based on 460+ reviews on the web)
Cool off under Argyle Waterfall, Tobago's highest cataract. The water drops 54 m (175 ft) down three separate tiers of the cliff face, in an area of lush green foliage. Park at the visitor center and make the 20-minute trek to the fall. The clearly signposted route takes you through an attractive wooded area, and you'll hear the rush of the water before you reach it. Explore the three tiers of the waterfall, cooling off in each pool as you go. The bottom pool--the smallest and deepest--provides the best place for swimming. • We arrived at the falls at the end of afternoon, not crossing that a couple of tourists on our way... good nature presents, designed to work well on a course that is easy in his first game... then, if you want to go to the upper basins, and above the falls, you'd better be in shape, but the effort is rewarded by the bath in fresh, pure water , in the middle of nature. A nice place to visit.

  • After paying about $12 CDN, my wife and I took the 15-minute walk to the waterfall. For those who've seen few forest waterfalls, Argyle would seem impressive. For us, it was rather average. The severa...  more »
  • A nice waterfall in the rain forest, which is within easy reach of the former. It is possible to view the waterfall from different natural platforms, but it requires good shoes and fitness. We climbed up a narrow path, and thereby came almost to the top. It is possible to bathe in several pools at the waterfall, but we found the water too cold.
