#8 of 17 in Outdoors in Trinidad
Lush green vegetation surrounds Macqueripe Bay, an idyllic beach that treats visitors to a peaceful swim away from the hustle and bustle of major tourism. A paved path passing through the bush and vibrantly colored flowers leads to the leeward facing bay, which features calm water all year round. Head to the snorkeling and free diving spot, where the green water boasts high levels of visibility, and look out for tropical fish, sea turtles, and sting rays swimming about. Bring your own food and water, as no facilities are located at the beach. • Very small beach with great impact, it is immersed in greenery ... not the usual coconut trees, but mighty trees with roots set in the colorful rock giant bamboo plants from which the birds plunge directly in the greenish water to capture the many fish that come close to the shore.

  • Lovely little bay with scenic tropical cliffs. The beach is somewhat sharp and pebbly so more of a place for swimming and climbing the rocks rather than laying on the beach. There is a big car park wh...  more »

  • Free on Sundays, tends to be cooler than other beaches, access to zip lining for adults and in a nearby park for kids - even my three year old enjoyed it. Bathrooms now available. On the same stretch there is an access to a petting zoo that has zebras and camels. Better to visit there when it's dry.
  • Lots and lots of green, red, Amber, and clear "sea glass". No one told me about sea glass, what it was, or where it came from so I had to do a little research. What a lovely find.
  • This hidden gem is two fold. It's fairly quiet compared to the other beaches such as Maracas bay and has only lately increased in popularity. It also hides a second beach which can only be accessed by swimming around a point. further out from where most people swim there are corals and beautiful reef fish. If you swim out a bit you might even spot one of the many turtles that frequent there! I've also seen incredibly colourful baby squid as well as stingrays but see the turtles much more often
  • One of the best beaches in Trinidad. The water is always nice
  • I absolutely love this beach . The best ever. I go there with my family all the time for the holidays.
