4.8/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web
Admire the dramatic spray of Mapu'a 'a Vaea Blowholes a series of natural blowholes in the rocky coastline of Tongatapu. When waves crash into the reef, the water pressure rushes through natural channels of volcanic rock, sending sky-high flume-like geysers soaring into the air seemingly out of nowhere. You can either take in the spectacular views from a lookout point, or walk along the edge of the track to get the full effect. Look for small kiosks selling handmade souvenirs, and come prepared with your own snacks as there are no other amenities nearby. • If you take the bus and ask to be dropped off at this attraction, it is straightforward to find. Just follow the paved road straight ahead. The attraction is certainly beautiful and well worth a visit, but who are finer blowholes at Maui rock.
