Ha'atafu Beach, Tongatapu Island

Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 80+ reviews on the web
Run by local surfing gurus, family-operated Ha'atafu Beach has served as a hub for surfers since 1979. The diligent owners provide surfing guests with insider’s knowledge about local breaks, conditions, and weather patterns. Thatched roof bungalows house the limited number of guests the resort allows, providing a quiet atmosphere and uncrowded surfing conditions. Each bungalow is just a short walk from surfing spots, as well as pristine swimming and snorkeling holes. Enjoying mostly east-southeast trade winds offshore, the coastline also benefits from groundswells from winter storm activity in both hemispheres, providing the beach with outstanding conditions for year-round surfing. Ha'atafu Beach is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Nuku'alofa Edition.
