As a result of this conviction, many of Tonga's elite built their tombs astowers. The Tongans developed different burial practices depending on class, with one layer for commoners, two for nobles, and three for royalty. At this attraction, you'll get a glimpse of the grandeur with which Tonga's royal family is laid to rest.   • The Tongans call this place mala'ekula. The grounds are in closed so you can only view the tombs from afar. The grounds are kept very nice and the only time the grounds are open is during a royal fune...  read more »
  • you can only watch from a distance, as it is surrounded by a huge fenced lawn. A little bit intriguing but if only they would allow to go nearer...
