Royal Tombs, Nuku'alofa
(1/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web)
Visit Royal Tombs to discover evidence of a long-standing Tongan belief that the higher a tomb isoff the ground, the closer the deceased will be to heaven. As a result of this conviction, many of Tonga's elite built their tombs astowers. The Tongans developed different burial practices depending on class, with one layer for commoners, two for nobles, and three for royalty. At this attraction, you'll get a glimpse of the grandeur with which Tonga's royal family is laid to rest. Do keep in mind, however, that the ground surrounding the tombs remains sacred, and visitors must stand at a respectful distance. Visit with a guide to get the full background and history. • Close to town, worth a look but don't worry if you missed it. Can't get very close to the Tombs. These ones are still used by the royals.
  • colorful local soldiers in pith helmets every evening 18-0000 flag under shot guns

  • The monument in the middle of the lawn is surrounded by fences. Cemetery of the Kings is off-limits, but looks good from the road. Management, such as mowing was being polite. It is recommended to visit the set because it is adjacent to the Church (free). However, no church.
