  • By error of the browser of the car we got in the parking (of payment) of this Museum, when what wanted to was go to see the mills of Zaans Schans that are to the side. We went to the information and ask the receptionist if it was possible to Park somewhere else since we didn't visit the Museum. He told us that we would have to cross a bridge and walking a lot and the parking was the only option, that is why we agreed to leave the car. We went to visit the mills, to the manufacture of cheese,... We went over everything in an hour and a half as much. At the end of the tour we took tells that there was a fair parking at the main entrance and that was much closer and it was also free. WE PAY 10 EUROS IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE MUSEUM FOR A FULL DAY (BECAUSE THERE ARE NO FRACTIONS) IS A MUSEUM THAT HAS NO MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR JOURNEY AND VISIT TO ZAANS SCHANS IN HOUR AND A HALF. A tour by boat but in summer can be done because the temperature was not for that. We feel truly ENGAÑADOS, Dutch only interested in your money, if you have to lie, lie. This is the image that we perceive with several anecdotes like this that we have been on the journey. BE CAREFUL AND NOT TE CHEAT!

  • Best when the wind is blowing that way you can see the windmills in action. Original Monet was not expected.
  • In the Zaans Museum is a lot to learn about the origin of the zaanstreek and culture of the region. A very diverse exhibition which you sure the Verkade Experience should not forget. The sausage rolls are not really recommended. The coffee is good. An interesting museum in an interesting tourist area and with a wonderful view of the polder.

  • A beautiful exhibition of the history of the zaans region and its heritage. Very interesting and put out very profoundly. You learn here about the economic development of the area and the different Dutch companies which became icon in the Dutch economy. There are also houses and the windmills open to visit. Highly recommended.
  • Where: Zaans Schans Windmills, Netherlands What: A tour of the old style windmills How was it: It's really great they can keep this history alive. We really enjoyed the village and walking around. Sadly we were with a tour bus for the day so we were timed. They did leave us x amount of time to roam as we liked. You can spend the whole morning or afternoon here if you like. The views are peaceful and make you travel in a different time. We love it and glad we could experience it. Grade: Eli = 5, Serge = 5 Recommend: Yes, you have to visit this place when you're in Amsterdam.
  • I loved it. As much as i want to have a longer time here, but i have limited time. So i prefer to the mills around the museum. Expect to see some history of cookies etc. The minor part is you have to pay for getting in.
  • Great museum of the Zaan's area history with old houses and mills and lots of wildlife swimming and flying around. The museum shows all the production history of this region and includes 3 lines of the famous Varcade factory: buiscuetts, chocolate and resins. You can play, taste (one piece) and buy the chocolates at the visitor's store.
  • Beautiful place in Zaanse schans. Amazing experience.
