  • A beautiful museum in the open air. Free to roam around and have a nice walk. Great to see so many typical Dutch items together; cheese making, wooden cloak making, sweets, windmills, wooden houses, its my number 1 place to show to my visitors from abroad. And I keep coming back for a walk myself a couple of times in the year. Great place for photography also!
  • Over 340 year old windmill is working on daily basis... not sure if it gets any holidays off or even get any paid vacation... but diligently pressing linseed to produce oil... Find out the process by the Miller himself or watch the whole daily process on video in the next room; It's amazing the ingenuity of humans, operation and history of the industrial Windmills... you may even fall in love with the fairy-tale like settings in Zaanse Schans.
  • Beautiful examples of classic Dutch windmills.
  • Great Oil mill. Inside you will find a TV with an explanation of the excellent engineering of the mill and how the oil is produced. A man doing the process is there as well.
  • Nice view, totally recommended
