  • The Castle Wijchen dates in its present form from the 17th century. It was built on the foundations of a late 14th century castle. The present Castle burned in 1906. But fortunately it was restored according to the original plans. The outside alone is worth a visit. The Castle Wijchen is found on the top floor. You should not expect 17th century style rooms. The museum has a permanent exhibition about the history of the region and archaeological finds. The biggest surprise are the excavations from Roman times. It is very informative. The exhibited pieces are particularly beautiful. In addition, there is a lot of space for changing exhibitions. The staff is friendly and extensive text and explanations. With a museum's annual pass is free of charge. Without museum's annual pass is the 5.0-entrance EUR. Hours of operation are Wednesday to Sunday from 1 pm – 5 pm.

  • Now on display in an exhibition on the bond between Castle Wijchen in Wijchen servants and India. A beautiful exhibition not only about the police actions but also over the Indian and Chinese, Moluccan Wijchen.

  • We are not a thorough museum visitors, but the employee gave us on request a nice introduction. The castle was burned down in 1906 to on the stones. The then owner has let the whole rebuild, but the inside is not in restored and looks more modern. There is a lot of Archaeology in these zones, and a nice bit is now here (and still in depot). There was also a temporary exhibition on the residents of Wijchen and their bond in the past with Dutch Indies. A small minus point that we are now not the Wedding Hall in the down part of the museum could view. There are special tours, so visit in advance on their website.

  • Castle. The Castle but did not appear for the Spring Fair normally found in Afferden was held but now here. Castle was not very hospitable to visitors to those spring fair. Spring fair this year itself fell itself also very much against. Castle not been in, but looked small, well maintained.
