  • Church built in the 14th century is over the centuries have been used by different religions and bodies. In the 16th century the buildings were shut down. Actually, the Church was too big for the small Veere. From then on, the Church as a multifunctional building is used. The Church has a strategic location because this gives a wide view over sea & country. During the French dominance was Veere heavily bombarded by the English fleet. Fortunately, the Church remained intact. During this period, the upper floors used as a hospital by the French army. On the ground floor were horses available for those arriving by car. The Church was used after 1815 under the new Dutch regime for many years used as a military function. From 1839 was a hospital it back, then again a shelter etc. .. Now it is an empty Church and is used as an exhibition space. On a clear day is a climb up a recommendation. Once you're at the top you have a beautiful view of the polders, the charming town with its port, the fortress Veere, the Veerse meer and the sea.

  • The Church itself reminds no longer to a church. There is no relic more. The Church is also especially for other activities. Well there is information about the history of Veere and the Church. What makes the visit worthwhile is the beautiful view from the tower. We were there with good weather. Then the view is endless.

  • It is a rather large church for the small town of Veere but it was once much larger. I liked to walk through the old town and every now and then to see the beautiful church. Inside is an exhibition space for contemporary artists.
