  • Just the right size - you can do it justice in half a day or really get stuck in for a whole day. There's a nice little cafe and shop. It is really old and the legacy is obvious in the wealth of plants.
  • Nice gardens to walk around on a summer day. The climate of Netherlands limits what they can grow outside, but the greenhouses and the butterfly garden have quite an impressive array of plants. Worth a walk through of you are in the area.
  • Located near the Uithof University Complex, the Botanic Gardens offer a view of most diverse landscapes and plants. The terrain used to be part of a "Werk aan de Hoofddijk", now called Fort Hoofddijk, one of many strongholds that, together with extensive waterworks, formed the New Dutch Waterline.
  • All sorts of plants, shrubs and flowers. A pleasant walk to have in there.
  • As the UU student, I am very happy to have this kind of fancy garden within reach, at the very heart ofuniversity complex in Uithof. It seems small from the outside but if you really look at the collection and 'hike' up hill it is actually quite large. Also, you can simply just sit in the grass or get the table at the cafe and enjoy the sun there.
