Where to stay in Utrecht

As a major cultural and economic center, Utrecht has more than its fair share of centrally located hotels oriented towards business travelers visiting the city for a day or two. To stay longer without spending too much on a comfortable room, consider a self-catering apartment or guesthouse near the city's main train station. You can also explore the residential neighborhoods' family-run hostels, which offer simply furnished rooms with free Wi-Fi within walking distance of good restaurants and shops.

  • Stopped in here as part of my walking tour and really enjoyed it. It might not be quite as elaborate or fancy as some of the churches in Europe, but it's still well worth a visit.  more »
  • Very nice and unique church. Together with the main dome it's one of the best churches in Utrecht. Go and find it, so colorful and surprising!  more »

  • A clearly underestimated gem. The most beautiful church I've seen in the Netherlands. Beautifully decorated, you can visit it a hundred times or stare it for hours and yet find new details every time you look somewhere. And even after spotting a detail, it is likely that it will be only a symbol for its true meaning.
  • The most beautiful church in Utrecht. Absolutely no doubt.
  • Must see, beautiful
  • Must see!
  • Beautiful church with very impressive art work! Great concerts and beautifully restored with European money. Very friendly and close-knit group of volunteers who keep this going.
