  • Top getaway with the whole family (0, 4 and 6 years), 3 hours long! A variety of fun children's activities and also the permanent collection was interesting for the two oldest. Easily accessible with a stroller. In short, a must for families.

  • Hence, not terribly interesting if you can't understand what you are viewing. Below my expectations.

  • Nice museum on the history of Christianity in the Netherlands. Especially the treasury houses multiple important artifacts. Must have some interest in the subject to appreciate museum.
  • Nice and quiet, has many catholic pieces, but also protestant ones.
  • Probably one of the better museums in Utrecht with some truly unique pieces of religious art an artifacts.
  • Although they're very well presented, the permanent collection works of art are the worse I've ever seen, just some Van Scorel, illuminated books and medieval objects attracted my interest. In my opinion, this museum doesn't worth the visit, might be only interesting for its temporary exhibitions.
  • Museum Catharijneconvent is a very interesting museum with a unique collection of Christian art. The art is presented in such a way that it is interesting for a broad range of visitors. The museums vast collection shows in an attractive way how the Catholic church and the Protestant church had their influence on Dutch society. The collection includes some masterpieces like a Middle rhine altar piece and a medieval statue of St. Ursula. Also the museum has interesting temporary exhibitions. During our last visit we enjoyed the exhibition 'ontsnapt aan de beeldenstorm' / 'surviving the Iconoclasm', this exhibition can be seen till the 24th of february 2013.
