Specialty Museum Museum
Home to a wide array of international automobiles and other vehicles, Louwman Museum catalogues automotive history and houses an extensive collection of pre-1910 cars. Visit the purpose-built museum and wander its multitude of displays and exhibits, containing over 230 unique vehicles spread out over three different floors. Learn about the development of the auto industry in Holland and throughout the world; you'll find that one of the facility's primary points of focus is its display of Spyker automobiles, rare cars produced in the Netherlands during the 20th century. Don't miss specimens once owned by Winston Churchill and Elvis, or the Eysink--a Dutch car representing the last of its kind. Put Louwman Museum and other The Hague attractions into our The Hague holiday planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Let's start to say that I'm not a car lover. For this reason I was not the most enthusiastic person when my son asked me to visit the museum. But I have to admit that he was right. The museum is reall...  more »
  • As a car enthusiast and visitor to other such museums, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. There are few cars built after 1970, but that's no bad thing as once you are past the very earliest exhibits, ther...  more »
  • This is my 2nd visit and not my last. An amazing eclectic collection of motors and memorabilia. Everything labelled and displayed thoughtfully.  more »

  • Must be one of the finest car collections in the world. Not just fancy sport-cars (locked up in some billionaire's garage) but literally the evolution of cars up until now. There are some beautiful and rare cars to look at. Some of the stories behind them make it even more special. Like the oldest Toyota in existence (Toyoda), discovered in a barn in Siberia. My only negative point is that there are just simple too many cars in this huge museum. It could use twice the space. So, unfortunately some great looking cars are stuck behind other cars and sadly don't get the love they deserve as well...
  • Budget at least three hours to go through this museum, more if you love cars. There's a whole load of cars from their humble beginnings to many modern beauties. There's also a themed cafe at the end of it. Well worth the ticket price.
  • Absolutely fabulous museum! An amazing stock of cars held within a beautiful building. The condition of both the cars and the building is superb. The museum is of an excellent size so as to be engaging but not tiring. There is ample to see for the car lover or modern historian. A few very special exhibitions are scattered around the musuem. These include several "first" cars, representing major landmarks in automotive history, as well as cars owned by famous people throughout history, ranging from Kaiser Willhelm II to Elvis. The resaurant is excellent, with a great selection of drinks and meals to conclude your journey through automotive history. The selection of tea's on offer is excellent as is the coffee.
  • My brother and his family from Germany visited, and we went there last Saturday. Not only the two boys and my brother, but also my SIL, my wife, and I were very positively surprised about this museum. What a collection! And they really made an effort to make it a memorable visit, as everything was beautifully arranged, well-lit, and the information bits and pieces next to the exhibits were very informative and at times entertaining. We really enjoyed our visit there!
  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much old cars and quirky and special, some with stories behind them others not. If you take your time it can take upward of 4 hours just to complete the round. Loved it.
