4.4
One of the Netherlands' most popular and prominent art museums, Gemeentemuseum Den Haag houses an extensive collection of modern works and the world's largest conglomeration of those by Dutch artist Piet Mondriaan. It currently hosts an interesting exhibition about Mondriaan. The permanent collection includes a number of nice pieces too.  more »

The municipal museum is a beautiful building, designed by Berlage. I have already seen a lot of great exhibitions, the style is also such a wonderful. Piet Mondrian is an icon, the exhibition dedicated to him is phenomenal.

Beautiful exhibition-clear overview drawn up in time and the style! The headphones offer an added value, just like the interesting inleidnende movie.

The exhibitions in this museum are world class. Their curators chose the best works from all around the world. We most recently saw the Alice Neel exhibition, along with brilliant exhibitions on Delftware and Valentino clothing designs. Their collection of glassware from the 17th century is fascinating, too. This museum never disappoints me. It's a must see for all art lovers who visit The Hague. In fact, if you're visiting just Amsterdam, then a train ride to The Hague would be totally worth it. Make a day of it and see the Escher Museum and the Photography Museum there as well.

Maya (8 years old) just loved the free Sunday art room they have available. You can leave your kid there for an hour while you browse the museum. In the basement they have a really fun looking scavenger hunt sort of game for older kids, with tablets they loan to players.

Exquisite museum. The building itself os remarkable in itself. Very good collection of modern art and varying temporary exhibitions

One of the best museums in the Netherlands. It has an impressive collection of late 19th Century and early 20th Century Dutch painters, and a world-class collection of Chinese (and Delft) porcelain. The building itself is architecturally interesting, and reflects the early design philosophies of De Stijl movement.

Disappointing China Characters. No manual, bad placement of information, but beautiful objects. A missed opportunity.
