  • This is one of the best museums in Amsterdam. There was plenty to see for us, art lovers, in this excellently laid out place: a mixture of work from modern dutch and international contemporary artists...  more »
  • I regularly visit this beautiful museum with time and time again most beautiful exhibitions. This time work of the Belgian artist Jean brusselmans and a bit further on, together with the work of Picasso (Blacksmith) artist González. Incredible what this man with iron. When you hadn't enough then walk still by the collection of chairs from Cabins. What a special chairs.!! GO CHECK IT OUT.

  • We came for 1 exhibition and have 4 views: Jean brusselmans, Picasso, Gonzales and friends, Mondriaan & the style and poetic black. Little rest of the time devoted to the permanent collection. Also in the pleasant garden room a snack and a drink.

  • I really liked this museum. It has a lot of different things to see, different kinds of art. It also has a huge part about fashion, like some of the first vogue magazines. It was way bigger than I expected to be, sadly I didn't have time to see all parts of the museum, due to the fact that I was there for a school trip and our time there was very limited. I definitely recommend going here. It also has a big cafe in the middle which is nice. The only thing though that I didn't like was that all the security guards would follow me and my friends even though we weren't doing anything wrong.
  • What a shame that I had never heard of this museum before! It has a rich collection of modern art (esp. Mondrian, but also Picasso, Bacon,...) and there was an excellent Art-deco-exhibition. And much more, but we had no time left. The building was planned by Berlage and is worth seeing it, too. The Gemeentemuseum is not in the centre, but don't be afraid: It can be reached easily by tram or bus.
  • Great place to send a weekend with the kids. Also the changing expositions are highly recommended
  • De Gemeentemuseum or municipality museum offers a great collection of Modern Art. The museum offers different collections of Modern Art and fashion. This year they have the Mondrian exhibition and the Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn exhibition. Especially for kids they have the art vault in the basement where kids can roam around with as tablet looking for clues and pieces of art to make their own little exhibition. The museum is listed as one of the top 5 Museums of the Netherlands.
  • I've been there twice now, it's an interesting museum with really different subjects on display, I liked the exhibition about Anton heijboer.
