Binnenhof, The Hague
Categories: Government Buildings, Tourist Spots
Visit the historic and current center of Dutch political life at Binnenhof. The 13th-century Gothic castle was originally the seat of the counts of Holland, and it later served as the main government building of the Dutch Republic. Today, the castle is home to the upper and lower houses of the parliament, as well as the prime minister's office. The central building of the castle represents the magnificent grand hall, with a throne from which the Dutch monarch delivers the parliament's opening speech. Go on a guided tour of the castle, learn about its history, admire the architecture, and use the opportunity to watch the parliament in session. Occasionally parts of the building may be inaccessible due to important political activities. Put Binnenhof into our The Hague vacation planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

The hague. I've been there some years ago. Really a very beautiful place. Calm, peaceful and plenty of lovely old buildings. the Many stores for shopping are a must.
Gorgeous buildings and well maintained dutch architecture. The lake beside this is beautiful and anyone would like to sit beside it and rest.
Place looks nice, gets renovated at 2020, must see in Den Haag
Gorgeous gorgeous building and extremely well-maintained, and that's saying something when it comes to The Hague. Sit by the lake, enjoy the views and take the tram or train right there.

Great Gothic buildings by a small lake. Oldest parliament in the world still in use. Best place for a tourist in The Hague to learn Dutch history. Highly recommended.
